1- Day Pottery Course (17th July 2024)

Service Description
Escape for a day of pottery in the beautiful English countryside! Located in the picturesque village of Great Brickhill, my studios are nestled in the tranquil Grade II listed Broomhill House with its large surrounding garden and nearby forest and canal, this is the perfect peaceful place to relax and get creative. Our 1-day throwing course is a perfect way to be introduced to clay or to improve your throwing skills in a relaxed environment with small groups of up to 5 participants. Course Outline We start the course at 10:00 with a welcome talk and a cup of tea, and a look around the studio. Thereafter I will do a throwing demonstration. You will thereafter be allocated your pottery wheel for the day, and the fun will begin! We will have a tea break at 12:00 and a chat about how we are getting on, then another go on the pottery wheel. Lunch is at 13:00, there is a lovely pub 2 minutes stroll from the studio, or you are welcome to sit and relax in our lovely garden just outside the studio with your packed lunch. We start again at 13:45 with another throwing demonstration. I will be on hand all day to help in anyway. The pottery day ends at 17:00. Included in the price are all the materials (clay, glazes, etc) and firing of up to 4 pots. My aim is for all participants to enjoy themselves and discover the fantastic media of clay. A £20 admin fee will be deducted from the full amount for each booking. Less than 4 weeks from the beginning of the course the booking is not refundable unless your place can be filled; in which case the full amount will refunded. a £20 admin fee will be deducted from the full amount for each booking. If cancelling at short notice due to Covid, a full refund will be provided if official proof of testing positive, or a requirement to self-isolate is provided, a £20 admin fee will be deducted from the full amount for each booking.
